Dr. Landry has been actively involved with education for thirty-eight years as a classroom teacher, a university professor and administrator, a technical assistant for the Louisiana Department of Education in a statewide reading initiative, and a professional development consultant.
      A dynamic consultant, Dr. Lavone Landry has presented nationally and internationally at conferences such as the International Reading Conferences, the National Council of Teachers of English Conferences, multiple area Regional IRA Conferences, and the Middle-School Education Symposium. She has provided professional development in all areas of literacy for teachers and administrators in districts throughout the United States. She has also served on District-wide and School level literacy teams as a consultant for school systems throughout Louisiana.
     Dr. Landry is a “nuts and bolts” educator who relies on research findings but with a common sense approach.  Her main focus is on what works with the learner(s).  Teachers refer to her as a “teacher”.  Dr. Landry consistently receives positive evaluations and comments about her presentations.
