Craig Bettis |
Craig Bettis is a 10 year veteran in the area of law enforcement. He graduated from Colorado State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and a minor in Criminal Justice. In 2008, he became a graduate of the Senior Management Institute for Police at Boston University. Craig began his law enforcement career in 1999 as a member of the Vail, Colorado Police Department. After working in the patrol division for two and a half years he was promoted to detective. During his time in investigations, Craig found his niche in the field of narcotics. He was then assigned to a multi-agency, county-wide drug task force. During this assignment, he was responsible for investigating drug trafficking organizations reaching throughout the state of Colorado and the nation. Craig excelled in dismantling these organizations through rigorous undercover work and clandestine operations. After spending several years in and out of different undercover roles, Craig developed his “true knowledge” of the drug underworld. Shortly afterward, he was assigned as a Task Force Officer with the Drug Enforcement Administration. In this position, he assisted with investigations of international drug trafficking organizations through the use of wire interception operations. Armed with greater knowledge and experience, Craig returned to the Vail Police Department in 2004 where he was promoted to Sergeant. Craig has since been appointed to oversee the Investigations Division and currently holds the title of Assistant Team Leader for the Eagle County S.W.A.T. team. Craig’s powerful presentation entitled “Drugs in Schools: What You Should Know” delivers a shocking message of truth about drugs in schools. His years of experience in the narcotics field have provided the tools needed to deliver such a meaningful message. For the past six years Craig has presented this topic to various law enforcement agencies and schools throughout Colorado and Texas. On numerous occasions, he has taken his presentation to national educational conferences and school districts. His message is intended to educate teachers, administrators, students and parents, regarding the truth about drugs in schools. Craig recently delivered his presentation at the national educational conference, “Nuts and Bolts”. Several participants, some of whom are nationally known educational speakers, commented to the Conference Director, Walt Grebing, that, “This presentation should be a requirement for all participants to attend.” Topics Include:
